Welcome to Mrs. Cecil's Class!!
Hello!! My name is Allison Cecil. I have been teaching at Northside for 9 years. I have taught 4th, 3rd, and 2nd grades. I also taught pre-school for 2 years before coming to Northside. I have a bachelor's degree from the University of Kentucky in Psychology, a bachelor's degree from Midway College in Elementary Education, and I received my Master's Degree from Georgetown College.
I am 38 years old and live in Versailles. I have actually lived in Versailles all of my life and attended Woodford County schools throughout. I am married and I have two sons, Lane and Ryan. They are truly my greatest joy in life!! Both of my boys play baseball and basketball so we are big sports fans at our house. I am also a big Alabama Football Fan...ROLL TIDE!! In my spare time I like to walk, go to the beach, go shopping, and watch my sons' sports activities.
I come from a long line of teachers in my family!! My grandmother, father were teachers before retiring and my sister is currently a teacher in another county in Kentucky. Both of my parents are from Eastern Kentucky and I cherish my Appalachian Heritage. I often share stories about visiting Eastern KY as a child with my students and pass on the stories that my parents have shared with me.
Teaching is an AMAZING job and I love what I do! I do the best I can to let my students know that they are loved and cared for in my classroom everyday. Having a personal connection to my students is key and I want them to LOVE coming to school. Fun and learning go hand-in-hand and I strive for my classroom to be a place of new discoveries that each child will enjoy. I believe that each child learns in his/her own unique way and I strive to meet the learning and social needs of my students in the best way possible! We work hard and I have high expectations, but through determination, fun, and perseverance we always come out on top!!
